Note: This procedure only for salaried staff.
Internet Reset Protocol
- 1. Turn off all of the computers in the office.
- 2. In the rear of the office, connected to the computer labeled, “AZTEC”, you will find the Netgear Prosafe VPN Firewall (Router), Westell DSL Modem, and the Motorola Cable Modem.
- 3. Locate the appropriate equipment mentioned in Step 2 to begin the Shut down process.
- 4. Located on the back of the Netgear Prosafe VPN Firewall (Router), which is the larger of the two Netgear boxes and it does not have an antenna attached, you will find the power switch.
- 5. Place the power switch into the OFF position.
- 6. Next, unplug the Westell DSL Modem by removing the power adaptor, labeled Cable 1 Power Adaptor.
- 7. Finally, unplug the power adaptor located on the bottom rear of the Motorola Cable Modem, it is the last cord.
- 8. Now you will begin the process of re-powering the equipment mentioned in Step 2.
- 9. Re-Plug the Westell DSL Modem using the power cable labeled, Cable 1 Power Adaptor. Test cycles will run and green lights will run on the front of the device, then stablelize.
- 10. Next, re-plug the power cable, which was removed previously, back into the bottom rear of the Motorola Cable Modem.
- 11. The final step in the re-powering process is to place the power switch on the Netgear Prosafe VPN Firewall (Router) into the ON position. Once in the on position you will notice the green lights on the rear of the machine flashing green than stabilize in green also.
- 12. Now, go to the nearest computer and power it on. Test the internet. If it works boot remaining computers..
